ABN AMRO | Stay Sharp! Continuously managing risks
In 2016, ABN AMRO approached us with the question of whether we could help them with this. This was a challenging question because ABN AMRO employees have different functions, work in different teams and countries, and have complex tasks.
In co-creation, we developed a comprehensive program, in which we used our PowerApp to keep ABN AMRO employees continuously sharp on risks. Last year, we celebrated the 5-year anniversary of the PowerApp deployment with ABN AMRO. We are proud that since 2017 we have been able to contribute to compliant and ethical behavior within the bank.
Do you know when to be alert?
With the help of our innovative solution, the PowerApp, we keep employees continuously sharp. Instead of teaching employees the exact rules, the learning content is designed to teach them to recognize non-financial risks at crucial moments during their workday or even in private situations.
For example, suppose you are a customer service employee at the bank and you receive a call from a customer. He sounds confused and tells you he suffers from dementia. You know you are not allowed to record health information. Do you make an exception in this case? Do you record that this customer suffers from dementia so your colleagues can help him better? What risks are associated with your decision? With practical questions like these, the PowerApp helps ABN AMRO employees become more aware of their choices.
Recognizing risks and dilemmas
It is impossible to memorize all the rules and procedures that apply to a bank. Not to mention ethical subjects where the rules are not so strictly defined. And that should not be the goal either. However, you can train people to recognize risks, how to act in the gray area, and how to tackle dilemmas.
To encourage employees to be more aware of non-financial risks and promote ethical behavior, we combine microlearning and gamification within the PowerApp. The PowerApp's smart algorithm personalizes the learning experience for each individual.
The interactive content brings ABN AMRO's code of conduct to life through practical cases, challenging questions, and realistic dilemmas. In this way, we create a human-centered learning environment where learning and working are integrated as much as possible as part of the learning strategy within ABN AMRO.
